The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, also known as a PHEV. This means that inside, the 4xe features not only a gas-powered engine, but a set of two electric motors that gain their power from a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the whole powertrain affords you with up to 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque! The Grand Cherokee 4xe really excels when it comes to capability, offering a maximum towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds when properly equipped. It also has three different 4X4 systems to choose from, depending on your desired trim level, the most robust of which is the Quadra-Drive II system with locking rear differentials.
How Efficient is the Grand Cherokee 4xe?
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe helps you conserve energy in numerous ways! First of all, your Grand Cherokee 4xe comes with three E-Selec drive modes, which you can choose from using the buttons on your dashboard. In Hybrid Mode, your 4xe will use gas power and electric power simultaneously. In Electric Mode, you can drive for up to 25 miles using battery power alone! Lastly, there’s eSave mode, which will only utlilize the gas-powered engine until your gas tank runs low. Then, it will automatically switch over to battery power. In addition to the rechargeable battery, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe also uses regenerative braking, which recaptures energy when the brakes are applied. When your battery starts to run low, you can easily recharge it using a home charging station, or a public charging station! As we mentioned above, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in five main trim levels. The base trim starts you out with a wealth of standard features, including a robust safety package with adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and more. It also has a standard 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. The base trim also has standard Capri leather upholstery, and heated front seats. The 30th Anniversary Edition trim is up next, and it has features such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, and a premium Alpine sound system. The Trailhawk is the off-road trim, with rock rails, front tow hooks, and a disconnecting sway bar. The Overland adds features like a hands-free power liftgate, while the Summit has luxurious Nappa leather seats, and a wireless phone charger.
