What does oil do for the engine?
The purpose of engine oil is to lubricate the engine and carry heat away. In this process, the oil will pick on impurities, such as dirt or metal shavings. The standard mileage in between oil changes is 3000 - 5000 miles, but always check your owner's manual to be sure.
What happens in an oil change?
